The passport data of an accession must include various information such as:
- an accession number
- an accession name
- an holding collection
- a taxonomic classification
- a Country of origin
- an acquisition source and date
MGIS passport data are compliant with the Multi Crop Passport data standard (MCPD) maintained in the Crop Ontology project. Addtional information is provided to contribute to the proper identification of an accession.
- Morphological characterization desbribed by a list of descriptors and associated photos
- Genetic integrity is described by ploidy and information coming from field verification.
