Ten Fusarium wilt resistant or moderately resistant Musa genotypes, as identified by the International Musa Testing Programme (IMTP), as well as three Fusarium wilt susceptible reference genotypes were evaluated on their resistance to Radopholus similis and Pratylenchus coffeae. In vitro propagated plantlets were transferred to the greenhouse and inoculated with approximately 1000 nematodes after four weeks acclimatization. Reproduction of R. similis and P. coffeae in the roots was determined at respectively eight and ten weeks after inoculation. The nematode host plant response was compared with the susceptible cultivar 'Grande Naine'. The resistance of two 'Pisang Jari Buaya' accessions and 'Yangambi Km5' to R. similis was confirmed. All other genotypes evaluated were highly susceptible to R. similis. None of the 14 genotypes evaluated were resistant to P. coffeae.
